We'll start by watching a few kites performing the Comete.

The first input, in this case with the left hand, will look and feel just like the start of a Half Axel.

The input should be firm enough to easily get the nose to point away from the pilot.

Here the kite reaches the "nose away" position. The next input, with the right hand, will cause the nose to point toward the ground.

Like so. You only need to give enough input to bring the kite to this "nose down" position. Don't over do it.

To begin the Yo Fade, start by flying the kite straight down toward the ground.

The first input is to perform a very quick, "Mini-Flare" like this...

Immediately after the input for the "mini-Flare", pull back very firmly with both lines to begin the reverse rotation.

You'll want to play around with this input to get a feel for what each particular kite needs to achieve the complete rotation.

It may not have to be that quick or intense.Experiment to see what works for you and your kites. Also, if the winds are up you will need to walk forward to kill some of the kite's momentum prior to the initial input.

We'll start by watching two Yo-Fade's each with different exits.

The Yo-Fade begins with a downward, vertical line of flight.

The initial input is a mini-flare followed immediately by a sharp, even, and very firm pop on both lines to begin a reverse rotation or roll-up.

Could you see it? Different kites may require different inputs and timing with this move. Different wind speed may require slight adjustments here as well. Play around with your favorite kite to see what it likes.

As we watch the reverse rotation, remeber that you may have to walk or run downwind to insure there is sufficient slack to complete the rotation. If the lines go tout, the rotation stops.

Timing is critical in catching the kite in the Yo-Fade. You must anticipate the "catch" with both lines as the kite nears this position and be prepared to tend the Yo-Fade.

Start with the hands back and begin to walk or run forward preparing to give the input for the mini-flare.

Mini-flare achieved. As you can see it's a very quick input that gets the nose pointing away to a very small degree.

The initial input is exactly like that for the Rolling Susan. Pull firmly on the lower wing and slack with the upper. This kills the kite's momentum and puts it on it's back.

You'll need to give greater slack with both lines, particularly on the upper wing. A step or tow forward may be necessary. The kite should be really nose deep for the next input.

Flying horizontally, begin the trick by popping the high wing(left hand in this instance) to position the kite for the flat spin rotation. Give slack with the low wing(here, the right hand).

It is sometimes necessary, or preferred, to give a small push on the upper wing immediately before the input just described. This can work to better position the kite for the flat spin.

Next, we give a firm pull for the flat spin rotation.

OK, we've started the rotation. Be sure to give slack with both hands to insure wingtip clearance as the kite rotates. Remember to move your feet if the wind dictates.

Now we'll break down the Backspin Cascade.

Start the trick just like you would a regular Backspin.

Here we start with an accelerated pull with the left hand to generate enough force for a single rotation and give just enough slack with the right hand to allow for the rotation.

OK, one rotation is complete! Now we are ready for the second, reversing rotation generated by an accelerated pull with the right hand.

The kite should rotate slightly past horizontal before the input is given for the reverse rotation.
